A Day at the Races

Pete and I woke up early and headed north to Bayfield to catch the 18th Annual Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race.  It was a beautiful two hour drive and we made it just in time to watch the start.

This team couldn't wait to get to the Starting Line
The Pink Booty team was a little more patient

The dogs jumped up and down and howled at the Start Line

Pete was toasty warm

Even Beth was toasty warm

After all the 8 dog teams were on their way, the 6 dog teams began lining up.  We decided to head out and drive to another site along the course and watch them about 1/3 of the way along on their 40 mile route.

Still full of energy

The pink booties are flying!

Lunch at the Egg Toss and then on our way home to our own Team
