Of Cabbages and Things

We had bloody marys, black-eyed peas and cabbage today to bring us luck. I wrapped a crisp dollar bill in a crisp cabbage leaf for a prosperous 2013.

Pete and I both had the day off so we tried out the Mercer School’s ice rink.  It was 14 degrees and we had the ice to ourselves.
The dogs rang in 2013 with an invigorating afternoon walk and retired to their beds with huge bones.

Back from the walk and
ready for treats.

Sleeping next to each other
after finishing their bones.

In front of the space heater!

My car, Snowball, turned 200,000 last night as I was driving home from the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Woodruff.  He’s been showing his age a little in the Northwoods, but he does quite well in the snow and cold.a
